Join us at Brasseria Notting Hill for a unique food and wine experience exploring the distinctive terroir of the Azores. We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive producer-led wine tasting, showcasing the unique and hard-to-find wines of the Azores Wine Company, hailing from the remote, volcanic islands of the Azores in the mid-Atlantic. The tasting will be hosted by Felipe Rocha, an Azores native and founding partner of Azores Wines, who works alongside famed winemaker António Maçanita, who was recently named Winemaker of the Year in wine critic Tim Atkin’s Portugal Report 2026. Filipe will share the remarkable story behind the regeneration of old, abandoned vineyards and near-extinct grape varieties that have survived the inhospitable climate of these remote islands. On Pico Island, vines are cultivated within UNESCO-protected volcanic stone-wall currais, where the challenging conditions produce wines with a distinctive, intensely mineral and saline character. If you enjoy volcanic island wines, such as Catarratto from Mount Etna, Listán Blanco from the Canary Islands, or Assyrtiko from Santorini, this is a tasting you won’t want to miss!
