Sommly Reviews
Show your reviews.
On your own site.
Six copy-paste widgets that pull your live Sommly rating and recent reviews onto your own homepage, booking page, footer. They update automatically as new reviews come in.
01 Live
Your latest score.
Without lifting a finger.
New review on Sommly? It appears in every widget on your site within five minutes. No manual sync, no API key, no rebuilding.
Star ratings, review counts, recent quotes. All current, all the time.
02 Free
No add-on cost.
No lock-in.
Every Sommly business gets every widget. There is nothing to upgrade, nothing to subscribe to. Drop them on your site, take them down whenever you like.
Works on Squarespace, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, plain HTML. If your platform accepts a code block, the widgets work.
Six styles
Pick the look
that fits the spot.
Each widget is its own page rendered by Sommly. You drop a single tag on your site, the widget renders inside it. Try them, mix them, swap them out whenever you like.
Mini badge
Score, stars, count. Ideal for footers.
Micro combo
Stars and a score. The smallest option.
Horizontal banner
Logo, score, CTA. Pairs with booking pages.
Pull-quote
A single review, large and serif.
Carousel
Reviews rotating every six seconds.
Review list
Vertical stack of recent reviews.
Light
Dark
Custom accent (forest)
Match your brand
Every widget supports a light and a dark theme, and a colour picker for the accent and stars. Pick the combo that sits cleanest on your existing site.
Want them to look exactly like a part of your design? Pass any hex value through the URL. The widget recolours instantly.
Light burgundy by default. Anything else, a query string away.
How to embed
Pick the snippet.
Paste once.
iframe
A single tag, fixed dimensions. Drop into Squarespace code blocks, WordPress Custom HTML, plain pages.
<iframe src="https://sommly.co.uk/embed/businesses/your-slug/mini"
style="border:0;width:100%;max-width:380px;height:70px;"
loading="lazy"></iframe>
JS snippet
Auto-mount and auto-resize. One script tag covers any number of widgets on a page.
<div data-sommly-business="your-slug"
data-variant="mini"></div>
<script async src="https://sommly.co.uk/embed/sommly-widgets.js">
</script>
Both options are generated for every variant inside your dashboard. Copy, paste, done.
Bonus
An SVG rating badge,
for everywhere else.
Some places do not accept iframes or scripts. Email signatures, GitHub READMEs, press kits, partner directories. Every business gets a shields.io-style SVG image too.
Update your number of reviews? The image updates. Same five-minute refresh as the widgets.

Placement
Where they earn
their keep.
These patterns work consistently for the wine bars, schools, and merchants already on Sommly.
Site footer
Mini badge or micro combo. Quiet, persistent social proof on every page.
Booking page
Horizontal banner just above the "Book now" button. The score nudges hesitant visitors.
Homepage hero
Pull-quote with one of your strongest recent reviews. Big serif, immediate impact.
Reviews page
List variant taking up most of the page, linked from your nav.
Email signature
SVG badge linked to your Sommly profile. Shows up under every email you send.
Per-event landing page
Event widgets aggregate reviews for one specific tasting or course.
No. The dashboard generates a copy-paste snippet for every variant. If your site has a place to drop an HTML or code block (Squarespace, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, plain HTML), the widgets work.
Within five minutes of a new review going live on Sommly. There is nothing to refresh and no API key. The widget pages cache for that window, then re-render fresh.
Every variant has a tasteful empty state ("No reviews yet" or "Be the first to review"). It is safe to embed the widgets before your first review lands. The dashboard also gives you shareable review links so attendees can leave one in a couple of taps.
Yes. Every event has its own widget snippet inside the dashboard. Useful when you have a landing page for a specific tasting or course and want the reviews scoped to that event rather than your business as a whole.
Hidden reviews never appear in widgets and do not count toward the aggregate score. Only published reviews are pulled in. You can hide or unhide a review from the dashboard at any time.
No. Iframes load lazily and asynchronously, so they never block your main page from rendering. Each widget is a small, cached HTML page; even on a slow connection they render in well under a second.
Make your reviews work harder.
List with Sommly, leave a tasting, and your widgets are ready to embed. Free, forever.
