Beyond Burgundy | Dinner with Domaine du Pélican & Clau de Nell

We would be delighted to welcome you to Beyond Burgundy, a private dinner exploring the wines of Clau de Nell in the Loire and Domaine du Pélican in the Jura. We will be joined by Sylvain Potin and Guillaume d’Angerville. Both estates are connected to distinguished Burgundian wine families. Leflaive and d’Angerville are familiar names to many Burgundy lovers, with long-standing connections to the region and generations of winemaking heritage. But their stories extend beyond Burgundy. Over dinner our hosts will share how their Burgundian roots have informed their work, providing a foundation from which they have explored what the Loire and Jura can uniquely offer. Clau de Nell is a 12-hectare estate in Ambillou-Château between Angers and Saumur. Anne-Claude Leflaive, of the renowned Puligny-Montrachet family, and her husband Christian Jacques discovered the estate in 2008 and were instantly captivated by its potential. Anne-Claude’s influence remains central to the estate, particularly in its commitment to biodynamics and the planting of Chenin. Today, her daughter Charlotte continues that legacy, working alongside her father and with the support of régisseur and shareholder Sylvain Potin, who joined the estate in 2009. Domaine du Pélican has an equally direct connection to Burgundy. Guillaume d’Angerville, proprietor of Domaine Marquis d’Angerville in Volnay, was drawn to the Jura after tasting a Chardonnay from Arbois at dinner with his wife and initially mistaking it for Burgundy. Intrigued by the region, he subsequently spent five years searching for the right parcels before establishing Domaine du Pélican in 2012. The estate now encompasses 15 hectares in the Arbois appellation.
