About this event
Cheese is often considered the perfect partner to wine, but it's not always that easy. Often white wine works just as well as red - find out why when we taste 6 wines matching them with 6 top quality cheeses from around the world.
You'll learn the principles of cheese and wine pairing so you can get it right first time when you do it at home.
Here are just some examples of the pairings we could explore:
- Beautiful, rich creamy Goat's Cheese paired with a classic Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc with the freshness and acidity to cut through the creamy cheese.
- The Beautiful Brie paired with a lightly oaked Australian Chardonnay with its own rich yet subtle character.
- How about a nutty and creamy Comte from the French/Swiss boarder paired with a French Pinot Noir that is low in tannin as not to overpower the cheese?
- We will have a vintage Cornish Cove Cheddar with a powerful yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend.
- No cheese board is complete without the robust flavours of Stilton, complemented by the equally rich yet sweet, LBV Port.
Biscuits for cheese are included as well as details of where to source the wines locally if you want to get your hands on pairings you enjoy the most.
All our courses can be purchased as a gift either as a dated or undated voucher.
