About this event

In France, the local cheese shop (fromagerie) is very highly regarded and cheese is a part of the cultural identity . There are more than 1000 different kinds of cheese made in France and it's common to end meals with a cheese course.

Join us as we sample 7 classic FRENCH cheeses and pair them with 7 delightful French wines. You'll experience a perfect combination of flavours when the cheese and wine are complimentary .

And you'll learn the principles of cheese and wine pairing so that you can get it right at home whenever you put a cheese board together.

There will be something for everyone at this special tasting - soft cheeses, hard cheeses, red and white wines. If you like cheese and wine, this is the night for you!

The line-up may vary (any good delicatessen seasonally adjusts its range), but is likely to include:

- Goat's cheese with Pouilly Fume (classic match)
- Roquefort and Sauterners (another classic)
- Brie and Alsace Riesling
- Epoisses and Gewurztraminer
- Comte and Cremant
- Morbier and Cotes du Rhone
- Reblochon and Savoie/Syrah

Biscuits for cheese are included (If you need gluten-free simply email us to let us know when you book) as well as details of where to source the wines locally if you want to get your hands on the pairings you enjoy the most.

All our courses can be purchased as a Gift, either as a dated or undated voucher.
