Discover Italy Tasting with Lunch (York)

Journey to the four corners of Italy in one single day. Taste 12 wines, including 1 fizz, as we explore the North, South, East and West of this spectacular peninsula. Discover the unique and delicious grapes and wines that Italy has to offer...

Your day will begin with a sparkling wine- and boy, there are a lot to choose from! We might do high quality Prosecco, or explore Franciacorta, perhaps indulge in some Alta Langhe.

Then we'll learn a little about the white wines of Italy. It's not all Pinot Grigio, you know! Arneis, Friulano, Greco, Fiano, a spot of Cortese or maybe a Garganega to tickle your tastebuds. But don't be fooled in to thinking that Pinot Grigio is just what you drink at the pub. This grape variety produces some very complex and expressive wines in tucked away parts of Trentino or Friuli. We'll show you the best regions which showcase all these white grapes at their finest.

We will break for a leisurely two course lunch, before resuming out Italian odyssey. Our afternoon will see us returning to the lakes, the mountains and the islands as we discover some of the finest wine regions. We'll explore Langhe (where Barolo is made), learn the secrets of Valpollicella and Amarone, unearth some highly unusual varieties from Sicily and Sardengna.

So many wines to taste, so much land to roam around, and all without leaving the comfort of your wine school table!

Our Saturdays are very relaxed tastings, we take our time to learn about and enjoy our wines. Spending 5 hours means we get time to properly answer your questions, time to get to know each other a little better, time to enjoy some delicious wine and food. Expect a friendly, sociable tasting which makes the perfect treat for any wine or Italy lover.
