This two-hour masterclass brings to life the great wines of Piedmont, whether you're taking your first steps into Italian wine or looking to deepen your appreciation. Piedmont, meaning “foot of the mountain”, is one of Italy’s most revered wine regions. Guided by Piedmont fine wine expert Tom Rodwell, you’ll discover why this extraordinary corner of north-west Italy is held in such esteem by wine lovers around the world. We’ll begin the evening with a glass of sparkling wine as an apéritif, before exploring the region’s white wines from local treasures Cortese, Arneis and Timorasso. Our focus then turns to Piemonte's distinctive reds, from juicy Barbera to the haunting beauty of Nebbiolo from the prestigious communes of Barbaresco and Barolo. To conclude, we'll taste an exceptional 2004 Barolo from the celebrated Monprivato cru, a rare opportunity to discover just how complex and ethereal Barolo can become with bottle age.
