Journey Home: A Sensory Wine Odyssey

What if a wine tasting wasn’t entirely about the wine? Inspired by Homer’s Odyssey and Odysseus’s journey home to Ithaca, Journey Home is a slightly different take on a wine tasting. Across four wines, we’ll move through four chapters of the story, using music, storytelling and different sensory experiments to see how the way we experience a wine can change what we actually taste. Some of the tasting will take place through headphones. You might taste with your eyes closed, focus entirely on texture, follow a smell into a memory, or taste the same wine again after changing the way you’re paying attention to it. Then the headphones come off and we’ll talk about the wine, what everyone noticed and whether anything actually changed. Four wines. Four chapters. One journey home.
