Movia Night at Bado

Be the first to taste five incredible new releases from legendary winemakers Movia at Bado on Thursday October 8. Join us for a special evening at Bado celebrating Movia Winery. Movia is on the Slovenia–Italy border, where the Kristančič family has been making wine since 1820. Aleš Kristančič’s approach centres on working with nature, from biodynamic principles in the vineyards, wild yeasts and very minimal intervention in the cellar. Certified organic since 2004, Movia makes expressive wines full of character and a true expression of this unique border region famous for its Ponca soils: a mix of layered marl (crumbling calcium-rich limestone) and sandstone formed in the Eocene era from an ancient seabed, full of fossils and minerals. From 6.30pm to 8.30pm, we will have a ticketed tasting of five wines including their 100% Rebula from Goriška Brda, aged in barriques and concrete eggs. Golden and textured, with ripe apple, apricot and orange peel, lifted by herbs, salinity and a gently tannic finish. Another will be their spectacular orange Chardonnay with its ripe yellow fruit and citrus meeting very subtle oak and lees ageing, all balanced by vibrant acidity, richness and depth.
