About this event

Is there a grape more enigmatic than Nebbiolo? Elusive and ethereal, both delicately floral and robustly tannic, truly a variety which defies lazy stereotypes. Come with us to taste some of the finest examples of Nebbiolo, from Barolo to Santa Barbara. Laura has been planning a tasting for a while which would be a comparison between the different cru of Barolo. But the wines are not ready yet. So, in the meantime, let's indulge in a chance to taste some of the other fine Nebbiolo in her collection. Wine line up to be decided, but absolutely guaranteed to be on show: comparative Barolo wines, same top producer different vintage; magnum of perfectly aged Barbaresco; Alto Piemonte... come and taste the mountain cousin of Barolo!; extraordinary examples of Nebbiolo from Lombardia, Laura's top pick for GVFM Nebbiolo; Laura's fave Roero Nebbiolo, more explosive and 'new world-esque' than you may have tasted before; Nebbiolo made like Amarone, hand harvested and dried in bunches before being fermented, mind-bendingly good!; Laura's fave New World Nebbiolo- including Jim Clendenen's superlative 'The Pip'.
