About this event

Join host Charles Curtis MW alongside Barry Dick MW and Mitch Fowler of Fero Drinks for one of the most candid conversations on the business of wine this year. The wine trade is under more structural pressure than at any point in a generation. Oversupply, shifting retail power and squeezed margins are forcing producers, distributors and retailers alike to rethink how wine actually moves—and who pays the price when it doesn’t. In this webinar, Barry Dick MW and Mitch Fowler will explore the structural challenges affecting today’s global wine supply chain. Drawing on insights in inventory-backed finance, trading and logistics gained through their work with producers, distributors and retailers at drinks funding platform, Fero Drinks, they will explore the three interconnected flows that underpin the trade: product, money and information. The session will examine how disruptions in each are contributing to today’s pressure points, from inventory imbalances and working capital constraints to reduced visibility and growing operational complexity. Connecting directly to the MW business of wine syllabus and recent stage two exam themes, the session offers a chance to sharpen financial acumen and forge a deeper understanding of an issue fundamental to keeping the industry sustainable. The session will close with an open Q&A. Hosted in collaboration with Fero Drinks drinks funding platform.
