About this event
We ease you into the day with a glass of traditional sparkling wine with breakfast inspired canapés. The day also includes a delicious 3-course seasonal lunch and a mid-afternoon tea or coffee.
Our venue, The Last, is in the capable hands of Sebastian Taylor, whose career includes ten years at The Ritz in London supported by an extremely talented kitchen team. The day is hosted in 'Taylor's', a bright and comfortable private room on the ground floor. Disabled access is available.
During the day you will taste 15 fantastic wines curated to celebrate the start of the Christmas Season and learn all about wine including how to make amazing food and wine pairings. Whether you are team France or team 'New World' - this is a fantastic opportunity to explore both traditional and modern wine-making.
The day is suitable for anybody, from beginners to budding connoisseurs and is a relaxed, informal event.
Overview of the day:
- Your day starts at 10am with a taste of Traditional Sparkling Wine and breakfast inspired canapés
- You'll then enjoy a practical introduction to wine and wine tasting
- In the morning you'll taste a range of wines that showcase why France has earned the right to be the benchmark for wine-production.
- You'll then break for a delicious three-course seasonal lunch served alongside 2 wines paired with the menu.
- The afternoon starts with a fun blind tasting session
- This is followed by a showcase of wine paired together to see how far the competition has come... or not!
- Finally we'll reveal how to create great food and wine pairings and the day finishes with some fine cheese paired with wine.
The day is scheduled to finish at around 4pm. If arranging transport home we recommend you are picked up around 30 minutes after the event finishes as it can run over a little.
If you have any specific dietary requirements, please advise us at least one week in advance of your course by e-mail [email protected]
