This September, we’re welcoming Lee-Ann from Bartinney & Plaisir Wine Estates for an exclusive South Africa Tasting in Smithfield. This August we're shining a spotlight on the Western Cape's wild terroir, its independent wine mavericks and wines that punch way above their price tag. South Africa is one of the top 10 wine-producing countries in the world. The wines produced here are unapologetically bold, exhibiting the sunshine-infused richness you’d expect from South Africa’s balmy slopes and lush vineyards. From the dramatic slopes of Stellenbosch to the untamed vines of Swartland, this is a wine country that reimagines the way we see wine. And we love it for that. We are incredibly excited to welcome Lee-Ann from Bartinney & Plaisir Wine Estates for a two-hour tasting exploring the icons, classics, and hidden gems of Stellenbosh - from bright, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc to creamy Chardonnays and the beautifully layered Plaisir Estate Red Blend. All the wines come from Bartinney and Plaisir Estates, two family-run estates in Stellenbosch, known for precision, character and a deep connection to its terroir. What to expect: Lee-Ann and our fantastic wine experts will be your guides, pouring seven incredible wines, including a welcome sparkling wine. She will share stories from the vineyards, the secrets of the unique terroirs, and the traditions that make these wines so world-renowned. So whether you’re a die-hard Chardonnay lover or looking to discover the depth of South Africa's reds beyond the supermarket shelves, this event is for you.
