About this event

Discover Switzerland’s flagship grapes – Chasselas and Pinot Noir – in an exclusive guided tasting of 8 wines from leading Swiss producers. Exploring Chasselas, Pinot Noir and the Alpine terroir that shapes them. Switzerland is one of Europe's most intriguing wine-producing countries, with a rich heritage, remarkable diversity of vineyards and wine traditions dating back centuries. Two grape varieties stand at the heart of its wine identity: Chasselas, the country's leading indigenous white grape, and Pinot Noir, its most widely planted variety. Together, they occupy roughly half of the country's vineyards, making them essential to understanding the character and diversity of Swiss wine. Join Marc Checkley, Swiss wine expert, educator and co-author of Switzerland: The Smart Traveller's Wine Guide, for an engaging masterclass and guided tasting of eight wines: four Chasselas and four Pinot Noirs from some of Switzerland's most celebrated producers. Discover the distinctive character of each variety, explore the influence of terroir, elevation and time, and uncover the stories of wines shaped in the heart of the Alps. An opportunity for wine professionals and adventurous wine lovers alike to discover wines rarely encountered in the UK, and to gain a fresh perspective on the two varieties that dominate Switzerland’s vineyards. Each ticket includes a signed copy of 'Switzerland - The Smart Traveller's Wine Guide' by Simon Hardy DipWSET and Marc Checkley (Académie du Vin Library 2025).
