About this event

For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings. What you'll learn: - The main types and styles of wine - Common wine grapes and their characteristics - How to store and serve wine - The principles of food and wine pairing - How to describe wine using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT). The course includes 3 x Live Virtual Zoom classes on Tuesdays 8th, 15th and 22nd Sept 2026 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. 6 wines are tasted (optional), 6 hours of live online tuition (all sessions recorded), 6 hours of home study, and a 45-minute multiple-choice exam. Course study guide is included and posted to you. The exam may be taken in person at Kent Wine School or online for an additional £39.
