EVENING COURSE. This beginner to intermediate level qualification course provides a structured exploration of the world of wine and is suitable for both wine industry professionals and wine enthusiasts. Individuals on this course will gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, candidates will explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe wines with confidence. Course Dates: January 2027 Course - Tuesdays: 12th, 19th & 26th January; 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd February; 2nd March. The course covers wine tasting (using WSET SAT), food and wine pairing, wine service and storage, labelling, factors influencing wine style, grape varieties (international and regionally important), and sparkling and fortified wines. The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is OfQual-accredited at Level 2 Vocational Qualification. No prior knowledge required, but Level 1 is recommended for complete beginners. Course delivered via LIVE virtual lessons with certified tutor, includes 16 hours tuition, study pack, and access to revision tools. Exam: 50 multiple-choice questions, 1 hour, 55% pass mark. Course fee includes materials, tuition, exam, and remote invigilation. Wine tasting of 12 recommended wines is optional; cost of wines not included.
